About us

Curtain Up Theatre Company is an amateur performing group who came together in 2021 as the country was coming out of Covid lockdown. The idea was to bring some positivity and hope to Lyme Regis following a challenging 18 months.

A group of keen performers initially got together virtually to discuss the possibility of staging a variety show once it was safe to do so.

The first ‘Curtain Up’ show in 2021 was the result of much brainstorming, with the group encouraged to put forward their own ideas and rehearse either individually or socially distanced.

As a result, a fantastic programme of diverse acts performed at the Woodmead Halls in July including singing, dancing, comedy and more. A sell out audience and rave reviews made it all worthwhile.

The success of 2021 was followed by a Curtain Up variety show in 2022 with another planned for July 2023.
